Personal Statement
My love for sports started the same way it does for most people, watching great athletes do great things. I remember watching Rickey Henderson, Michael Jordan, Bianka Bell and thinking that’s what I want to be, a great athlete. I learned very early that to be great I had to commit and sacrifice, but that alone is not enough. To truly be great I also have to love what I do, and there’s nothing I love more than softball. I love everything about it, and if given the opportunity I would play softball for the rest of my life. To say I want to play college softball would be an understatement, I not only want to play college softball, but I want to play in the Women’s College World Series and become a world champion. The great Muhammad Ali once said, “Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.” I know to make my dream a reality takes a great deal of hard work and sacrifice, which is why I spend every day practicing and preparing to become a champion.
